Synchrophasor Calibration

Our synchrophasor calibration lab is focused on evaluation of GPS-enabled IEDs supporting the synchrophasor family of standards including IEEE C37.118.1-2011, IEEE C37.118.2-2011,  IEEE C37.244-2013, C37.242-2013, etc. The equipment supports testing procedures as defined in documents released by the North American SynchroPhasor Initiative (NASPI), particularly the Performance Standards Task Team (PSTT). The calibration lab is designed and implemented following the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines. The lab is also equipped with commercial Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) to enable researchers to experiment and learn using the real equipment. The lab also provides accurate time sources based on GPS satellite receivers.
